Vi är nu inne i på upploppet med att få ångloket JGJ 9 klart, vi har jobbat intensivt de senaste veckorna med att montera armaturer, injektorer, ångvissla, slipat in ventiler och lagt i nya glander.
Now we are on the finishing straight with JGJ 9, all valves, injectors, fittings are in place on the boiler and we could fire the boiler to check how the injectors are working. Before the firing we put in new seals on the level glass tubes and checked for leaks with soap water on the flange of the renovated gresham injector on the right hand side. The ash pan has had some rust holes that required new plating to welded in – the front lid was locked in the closed position and a short lip was welded on the backside to prevent ash falling on the track when the rear lid is open. After a the boiler was fired we let the loco cool in the evening sun before stabling her in the engine shed
